How to Read Your Loyalty Analytics Dashboard (And What to Act On)

FP By FidiPerks Team · 29 July 2026 · 7 min read

Every loyalty program generates data from the moment the first customer joins. The problem isn't collecting it — it's knowing which numbers actually matter, and which ones are just noise. Redemption rate alone can be misleading. Visit frequency alone can be misleading. Read together, they tell you exactly what to fix.

Start with visit frequency, not redemption rate

It's tempting to open your dashboard and look straight at how many rewards have been redeemed — it feels like the "success" number. But redemption rate on its own can't tell you whether your program is working. A high redemption rate might mean your rewards are exciting and driving repeat visits. It might also mean your reward threshold is so low that regulars would have come back anyway, and you're just discounting visits you'd have gotten for free.

Visit frequency — how often your average member visits per month, and whether that number is trending up — is the metric that tells you if the program itself is changing behaviour. If frequency is flat while redemptions climb, your reward is being absorbed by existing habits, not creating new ones.

Segment by reward type before you conclude anything

FidiPerks supports several reward mechanics — threshold rewards (visit X times, earn a reward), streak rewards (visit on consecutive days/weeks), milestone rewards (spend or earn to a cumulative target), and one-time or claimable rewards for specific campaigns. Each behaves completely differently in your analytics, so blending them into one "redemption rate" number hides what's actually happening.

Reward typeWhat a healthy pattern looks likeWarning sign
ThresholdSteady redemption spread across the monthRedemptions cluster right after signup, then stop
StreakRising median streak length over timeMost members break their streak at the same step
MilestoneMembers re-engaging as they approach the targetLong plateau with no movement toward the milestone
Claimable / one-timeHigh claim rate within the campaign windowClaimed but never redeemed in-store

Quick tip

If a streak reward keeps breaking at the same step for most members, the streak length is probably wrong for your customer visit pattern — not the reward itself. Shortening it is usually more effective than making the reward bigger.

Watch churn signals, not just growth

New member growth feels good to watch, but it's the least useful number for understanding whether your loyalty program is doing its job. The more actionable metric is the share of members who haven't visited in 30, 60, or 90 days. This is exactly the audience that FidiPerks' scheduled reminder plugins (inactive-user and reward-expiry reminders) are built to re-engage automatically — but you should still check this number yourself, because it tells you whether your rewards are worth coming back for in the first place, not just whether reminders are being sent.

Growth tells you people are trying your program. Retention tells you whether it's actually working.

What to actually act on this week

  1. Pull your 30/60/90-day inactive segment. If it's growing month over month, your reward isn't compelling enough to justify a second visit — not a reminder-frequency problem.
  2. Compare visit frequency before and after your last reward change. A change that didn't move this number probably isn't worth keeping.
  3. Check where streaks break. If most customers drop off at the same step, shorten the streak or add a smaller reward earlier in the sequence.
  4. Look at claimable rewards separately. A claim isn't a redemption — track both, and treat a big gap between them as a sign the offer wasn't compelling enough to act on in-store.

The Bottom Line

Your dashboard isn't there to make you feel good about growth — it's there to tell you which levers actually move repeat business. Redemption rate, visit frequency, streak performance, and churn segments each answer a different question. Read them together, and the next change to make to your program usually becomes obvious.
